Bengali books and online marketing

Recently, some hitherto unknown series of Premendra mitra also came up as discussion on our Ghonada orkut forum, they are Mejokarta and Parashar Samagra, however, members did also inform us these books are now no longer available in Calcutta book market, be it College Street [main book market of Calcutta] or anywhere else. Even in the Kolkata book fair also, these books are not to found. Looks like these books are gone, mostly out of print and may not be available at all in near future. This is kind of unfortunate, even though 'tis understood that demand of these books are rare. One way of protecting this books and also a improved way of reaching to more and more Overseas bengali book market will be concept of E-Book. Not a very new thing for internet and computer savy people but of course to many who are not so lucky. This is like pdf or doc or rtf format of the books, which can be sold to legitimate buyers online. Hastle free and convenient. Again, we need to wait as to when this becomes a reality. A lot of old books can be saved this way, make available to people when they need it, barring the inventory of number of unsold copies.
